Gumtree.com was set up in 2000 in London to help Aussies, Kiwis and South Africans set themselves up in the big smoke.
We've grown a lot since then, especially since we became part of the eBay Classifieds Group in 2005. We spread out of London to cover the whole of the UK, as well as expanding the Gumtree brand to Ireland, Poland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
We're now the UK's biggest classifieds site, specialising in second-hand goods for sale, motors, property and jobs, and we now have more than 8 million visitors coming to the site every month.
